General Members

Your entry point into NewComm. You have a role from day one: test prototypes, give feedback, and connect with members across schools.

  • Monthly Design Studios — Test real prototypes from student-led companies and give feedback that shapes $10K projects.
  • Supper Clubs — Monthly dinners where students and professionals sit at the same table. No panels — just real conversation.
  • Community Roundtables — Virtual happy hours with speed intros, team trivia, and peer tutoring.
  • A Path to Go Deeper — General Members can apply to become Engaged Members — get drafted onto a company, get paid, do real work.
Get drafted · Get paid

Engaged Members

Get drafted onto a company by a Fellow, take one of four specialized roles, and get paid to execute a $10K project for a real client.

  • Drafted Onto a Company — Fellows choose you for their team. You join a company with a real client, a real budget, and a real deliverable.
  • Four Specialized Roles — Budget, Program Development, External Partners, or Marketing & Advertising.
  • Paid Per Session — You're not volunteering. You're working. Show up, deliver, get paid.
  • Everything General Members Get — Plus weekly company meetings and expert support.
  • Path to Fellowship — Strong Engaged Members become Fellows the next year.
Applications due January 31st
Lead a company · Manage $10K

Fellows

Lead your own company, mentor Engaged Members, and manage a $10K budget solving real problems for real clients.

  • Lead a $10K Project — You and a co-Fellow design, prototype, and deliver a funded solution for a real client.
  • Expert Panel — Pitch your ideas monthly to Math, English, AI, and Wellness experts who stress-test your thinking.
  • Summer Intensive — Five weeks of deep learning through literature, data, and field research.
  • Paid Stipend — Fellows earn stipends tied to deliverables. The work is real, and the compensation reflects that.
  • Governance & Networking — Sit at the leadership table, attend Supper Clubs, present at Net Gala, and bond at the LAB* Retreat.
